The U.N. Special Rapporteur on Torture has sent Urgent Appeal to Iranian Authorities regarding Sarah Shourd in Evin Prison.
The '3 US Hikers' have been held in Evin prison, Iran, since July 2009 without charge. A recent investigation suggests they were kidnapped.
Sarah has a lump in her breast and precancerous cervical cells. Results of tests have been withheld and she is being denied access to medical care.

Over 10 years ago, Sarah was diagnosed with precancerous cervical cells.
Prior to her imprisonment, Sarah was tested every 3 months and sometimes required follow-up treatment.

UN acknowledges Sarah Shourd's Solitary Confinement is Torture
The U.N. Special Rapporture on Torture has sent an Urgent Appeal to the Iranian Authorities on Sarah's behalf.
Sarah has been kept in solitary confinement for over a year, in a cell measuring about 6 ft by 9 ft. She has one small window high up in the wall, too high to see out of, and a little hatchway in her door which is kept closed. Read More
Sarah Shourd was arrested on the borders of Iran, with her boyfriend Shane Bauer and their friend Josh Fattal, in July 2009.
She has been held in solitary confinement, in Iran's notorious Evin prison, for over a year without charge.
Sarah has a precancerous condition which may now have turned cancerous. She has been denied medical access and has had no monitoring of her condition.
She recently discovered a new lump in her breast.
