Flood Aid for Women-headed Households
Sewa Development Trust Sindh (SDTS) is working in the Sindh province of Pakistan which is located close to the Arabian Sea, and its main fresh water source is the Indus River.
Due to a heavy monsoon season, Pakistan experienced the worst floods in its history, with heavy rainfall and flash floods.
The floods have affected 78 districts in Pakistan, and more than 20 million people have been affected.
In Sindh, 19 districts with a population of more than 7 million people have been affected.
We started early recovery of the flood-affected women through agricultural support, to 1000 women-headed households.
The women-headed households get seed, fertilizer and agricultural implements (tool kits).
Internally displaced people
Also, we provided health and hygiene support to the 1500 flood-affected, internally displaced people (IDP) through distribution of soap bars and jerry cans, and dissemination of personal hygiene awareness posters/leaflets among children and women.
If you would like to make a donation to SDTS so that we may assist flood-affected families who need shelter, medicine, food, blankets, etc., please see contact details.
